Burry Port Marina

Situated in the quiet coastal town of Burry Port lies what the locals call the Heart of Carmarthenshire.

Burry Port Marina is a tidal Marina with (201 currently usable – ((pontoons B,C,D,E))/283 usable ((included A,F)) after dredging)  berths, adjacent to Pembrey Country Park and within easy reach of the Gower Peninsula, Burry Port Marina offers year-round cruising along the Southwest coastline.

There are options to keep your vessel here all year round, with various mooring options available. Or just fancy a quick stop over, we do have visitor berths available. We do have options for seasonal mooring which include quarterly or monthly through the summer and the winter.

Our services offer, Electricity, Water, Showers and Restrooms, on-site Car parking with access to two slipways.

The Marina is accessed through a tidal gate which operates 2.5 hours either side of high water on spring tides, times will vary dependant on tide heights. The Burry Inlet Estuary should be treated with caution, the sand shifts and charts should not be relied upon. Approach via the South channel (taking care in the area of the outer bar and Lynch bank and to avoid the West Hooper bank (north of the mid channel) and the Hooper bank (south of the mid channel) where big waves can develop in the shallower water. The shallow water extends from approximately N 51 038.05 W 004 19.10 to the northern shore.) Marina approach is now directly into towards the cill gate, following buoyage that commences in the region of a Barrel Post in position 051:40.488N  004:15.005W From there the approach is marked with by 2 red and 3 green buoys (lit at night). The depth is variable. If in doubt, approach near high water and not on the neap tides.

The Marina Gate is shown and access guided by a light system. 3 red lights mean the gate is up and should not be approached. Two green lights vertically over a white light indicate the gate is down and two-way traffic is in operation. Boats leaving the Marina should give way. The depth over the sill is 2.5 metres but it is advisable to check the approach and depths with the Marina office before entering. Burry Port is marked by a lighthouse on the western protective breakwater (N 051 40.619 W 004 15.048). Its characteristics are Fl 5s 6.5NM.

Prior to arrival all new boats must have organised their vessel insurance and have it available for staff. On arrival new boat owners must report to the Marina office to complete their contracts and provide vessel insurance to comply with our terms and conditions.
